Gabriel first reached out wanting help creating the brand identity and all encompassing design materials needed for his new business: logos, business cards, email templates, and a website.
After twenty years working as a social worker, Gabriel was taking his credentials to open his own counselling service: GRT Counselling, or Growth and Recovery through Counselling. The acronym also represented his own initials.
It was important for Gabriel to create a design that connected him to his clients. It needed to be personal and professional, while also being mindful to bridge any socioeconomic gaps. His website design was kept simple and straightforward with this priority in mind.
The vision.
We endeavoured for a design that would represent not only the business, but reflect Gabriel as well. We knew we wanted to represent as much as possible, both personally and professionally.
The serif typeface was chosen for his logo due to clean lines and structure, removing the inner portion to create an openness within the logo itself. The minimal leaf designed to emphasise the evolving growth orchestrated through his work.
Knowing Gabriel’s own preference to dark earthy tones, we sought to
incorporate this into his design. Not only did this serve to the concept of growth, but also provided a touch of masculinity to his design.
It was important for us to create a design that represented depth, softened with neutral tones to create the sense of structure and safety.
Textures of clay, sand, and wood are found throughout his brand identity and website to represent the grounding effect of his work.
